1. Observe the Seal Appearance
A qualified seal should be smooth, free of wrinkles, bubbles, or damage, and have a uniform seal width. Visible wrinkles, a weak seal, or a missing seal indicate improper heat-sealing temperature, pressure, or time control, making the bag susceptible to cracking or air leakage during use.
2. Check the Seal Strength
Seal strength is a key indicator of quality. A preliminary assessment can be made by manually pulling the seal. If the seal cracks with a slight tug, it indicates insufficient heat seal strength. A more accurate method is to use a professional heat seal strength tester to verify that the seal meets national or industry standards.
3. Conduct a Sealing Test
Sealing tests are important means of verifying seal leaks. Common methods include vacuum immersion and air pressure testing: placing an air-filled bag in water, vacuuming it, and observing for bubbles; or inflating and pressurizing the bag to detect leaks. This effectively identifies minor damage or a leaky seal.
4. Test for High and Low Temperature Resistance
For products that require refrigeration, freezing, or high-temperature sterilization, the seal must withstand temperature fluctuations. The bag can be placed in high or low temperature environments to observe for cracking, delamination, and other issues to ensure it remains intact during transportation and storage.
5. Focus on Production Processes and Equipment
Seal quality is closely related to production equipment and processes. Using high-precision heat sealers and stable production processes can reduce seal defect rates. Partnering with experienced suppliers and requesting seal quality inspection reports is also a key way to ensure quality.
To determine whether the seal quality of laminated plastic bags meets standards, a comprehensive assessment should be conducted based on five aspects: appearance, strength, sealing, temperature resistance, and production process. Only when the seal is firm and airtight can the safety and quality of the product be guaranteed during storage and transportation.
